CARE GUIDE

__________
note
This care guide is for Fizz Fur Studios fursuits though can be used for other makers suits where it applies.
[Check with your maker first though !]

ITEMS WORTH PURCHASING
- mini fan [or neck fan]
- fursuit spray
- under armour
- balaclava
- pet slicker brush
- cooling vest

BRUSHING
Every so often, go over the fursuit part with a pet brush, making sure to follow the fur direction. To avoid pulling at the fur too much, brush with the bristles facing the opposite way than you normally would. Don't brush your fursuit too much as overbrushing can cause balding in the fur and it doesn't grow back.

WASHING
head
To wash your fursuit head, use a small towel/rag with mild laundry detergent [diluted with water] and gently scrub it over the entirety of the fursuit head. Once the head has been scrubbed over, rinse out the soap and place it near a fan to air dry. Make sure the fursuit is fully dry before the next wear. Whilst washing, try to avoid getting the eyes of the suit wet as the paint can run even though it's sealed, you can make this easier by putting paper towels in the fursuits eyes before washing it. Whilst it's drying, brush over it once of twice with a slicker brush making sure the fur stays in the right direction.
handpaws
For washing you handpaws, you can either hand wash them the same was as you would a head, or you can put them in the washing machine. If you're using the washing machine, make sure it is on a delicate, low heat setting. Heat can damage the fur. Leave to dry the same you would a fursuit head, in front of a fan. Do not under any circumstance put your fursuit in a dryer.
tails
For washing stuffed tails, use the same technique as handpaws.
For washing super-motion tails, or tails with a foam core, use the same technique as a fursuit head.
feetpaws
For washing feetpaws, whether they're plantigrade or digitigrade doesn't matter. Use the same technique as a fursuit head.
3/4 suits & fullsuits
For washing your 3/4 suit or bodysuit, remove the stuffing from the leg padding [if there is any] and put the bodysuit in the washing machine or bath tub. If you're using the washing machine, use the same settings spoken about previously in this guide. If you're hand washing, put some cold-lukewarm water into the bathtub and some mild laundry detergent. Scrub the detergent into the fur and rinse it out. Once rinsed, put the suit up to dry in front of a fan and make sure to brush it whilst it dries. Make sure everything is fully dry before wearing it again.
